Progestins CHC modify the oestrogen effects different ways, depending their pharmacologic properties. The progestin-only generally considered low. Methods: novel drospirenone (DRSP)-only pill (4 mg DRSP 24/4 intake) lipid-, carbohydrate- bone parameters haemostatic variables including clotting factors D-Dimer level was evaluated comparison to 0.075 desogestrel (DSG) during multicentric, prospective, double-blind, double-dummy clinical trial with 1190 participants over nine treatment cycles. Results: For both DSG, there decrease (total, HDL, LDL) levels. No relevant glucose, insulin, c-peptide or remodelling markers were detected groups. Considering coagulatory parameters, no hemostasis. Conclusions: results confirm beneficial properties drospirenone-only pill.EudraCT Number: 2011-002396-42
